Âmbar Energia, of the J&F group, signed on Monday (10) agreements for the acquisition of Eletrobras’ portfolio of thermoelectric plants. The deal involves the acquisition of 12 natural gas plants in operation and a project for the implementation of a natural gas thermoelectric plant in Manaus (AM).
Together, the 13 units have an installed capacity of 2.1 gigawatts (GW) of energy, which expands Âmbar’s portfolio to 4.6 GW. The transaction has a value of up to R$ 4.7 billion, of which R$ 1.2 billion in earn-out.
Currently, Âmbar has 27 power generation plants from different sources. There are 5 thermoelectric plants, 16 hydro, 5 photovoltaic and one biogas, in addition to 102 rooftop photovoltaic micro plants.
Twelve new generation units are located in the state of Amazonas and are of fundamental importance in supplying the region. The Santa Cruz plant is located in the State of Rio de Janeiro, one of the largest energy consumer centers in Brazil. The entry into these two new states contributes to Âmbar’s geographic diversification.
“This deal reflects our commitment to the growth and development of companies, people and the economy of the states and Brazil, contributing to the country’s energy security,” says the president of Âmbar Energia, Marcelo Zanatta.
