What is the participation of the BNDES (Brazilian Investment Bank) in J&F?
The BNDES is one of JBS’s (an animal protein processing company) shareholders, with a 22.99% participation. The Bank does not hold equities in J&F Investimentos.
What is J&F’s position in the ranking of major Brazilian companies?
J&F Investimentos is the third largest company in the category Private Group with operations in Brazil, with net revenues of R$ 80.8 billion, according to Exame Magazine’s “Best and Greatest” (Melhores e Maiores) survey. J&F Investimentos also ranks sixth in the category of Non-Financial Groups with operations in Latin America according to the same publication.
Are J&F’s company executives involved in politics?
No. José Batista Junior, who was a pre-candidate in the run for governor of the State of Goiás is no longer part of J&F Investimentos. Junior left the company and sold his stake to his brothers Joesley and Wesley Batista, thus leaving the business entirely.

What is the JBS / Friboi Group?
JBS is not a group, but the world’s largest producer of protein. The company is the largest processor of beef, pork, lamb and poultry meats and of leather. Friboi is one of JBS’s brands. The company’s diversified portfolio holds brands that are renowned not only in Brazil, but also abroad. Alongside Friboi are Swift, Maturatta, Cabaña Las Lilas, Pilgrim’s Pride, Gold Kist Farms, Pierce and 1855.
What was J&F’s intention when acquiring Canal Rural? Why enter the media segment? Is there an aspiration to acquire more media outlets?
Canal Rural is part of J&F’s growth strategy. J&F already operates the agribusiness sector through several companies that make up its portfolio, thus it made sense to acquire the leading TV channel in business coverage and issues related to the sector.
We do not intend to buy other communication outlets. This was a unique opportunity for something that is segmented and fits into the Group’s strategy.
What is J&F Investimentos participation in the energy and construction sectors?
J&F Investimentos participates in energy auctions through a partnership with Furnas, a company of the Eletrobras group.
